Before You Start:

Watch the Product Tour:

Elevate version:  https://demos.navattic.com/elevate_for_teams_advanced_tour

Requirements:

To install and run the software, you must meet the following requirements: Microsoft Teams desktop app (classic or new) running on Win/Mac OS and a Unite/Elevate license (Essentials, Pro, Enterprise, With Teams) assigned to your test user.

Step 1: Admin Publishes Unite/Elevate Teams Embedded App

The Unite/Elevate Teams Embedded App provides access to all your Voice and SMS functionality using the Unite/Elevate UI you already know, but from within MS Teams. Before users can use the Unite/Elevate Embedded App, your Teams Admin needs to make it available within your organization.

  1. Download the Elevate Teams Embedded App
  2. Publish the app for your organization (requires Teams Admin rights):

A. Upload the Unite/Elevate Teams Embedded App

i. Go to https://admin.teams.microsoft.com

ii. Navigate to Teams Apps > Manage Apps

iii. Select Upload an App

iv. When prompted, select the ZIP file downloaded in Step 1

B. Make the Unite/Elevate teams Embedded App available to your whole organization:

i. Find the app uploaded in Step 1 in the list of available apps

ii. Select the name of the app to access its properties

iii. Select the User and Groups tab and edit the availability

Step 2: Administrator Actions to Enhance the Experience

For a seamless user experience, we recommend you enable SSO and sync your Contact and Presence feature on your Unite/Elevate account.

  1. Enable Contact sync on your Unite/Elevate account: https://support.intermedia.com/app/articles/detail/a_id/25593
  2. Enable the Presence sync on your Unite/Elevate account: https://support.intermedia.com/app/articles/detail/a_id/26087
  3. Enable SSO for your Unite/Elevate account: https://support.intermedia.com/app/articles/detail/a_id/24154
Please note that with SSO enabled, you are expected to log in to the Embedded Teams app using the same Azure account as with Teams. If you anticipate using multiple demo accounts and re-logging with each of them in the Embedded Teams app, then we do not recommend enabling SSO.

Step 3: End User Adds the Embedded App to Their Teams Desktop

Once the Unite/Elevate Embedded App is available within an organization each user will need to access it and pin it to the sidebar in MS Teams.

  1. Login to MS Teams
  2. Select the Apps option in the sidebar to open the MS Teams App Store and select Built for your org
  3. Add the Elevate Embedded Teams App
  4. Right-click on the Elevate Embedded Teams App icon on the sidebar and select ‘Pin’ to ensure that the App always remains visible

Step 4: End User Installs the Unite/Elevate Teams Desktop Plugin

The Unite/Elevate Teams Desktop Plugin works transparently in conjunction with the Teams Embedded App to make and receive calls and needs to be installed on each computer. If the Unite/Elevate tab in MS Teams is not open, the Teams Desktop Plugin will display a loading state until the tab is opened.

Windows

  1. Download the Elevate Teams Desktop Plugin
  2. Run the installer and complete the installation process
  3. Run the Teams Desktop Plugin from the Applications panel
  4. When prompted, grant permission for the Teams Desktop Plugin to access the microphone

macOS

  1. Download the Elevate Teams Desktop Plugin dmg
  2. Open the dmg and drag the Teams Desktop Plugin to the Applications folder
  3. Run the Teams Desktop Plugin
  4. The Teams Desktop Plugin has not been signed so you will see a warning message.  To grant permission for the Teams Desktop Plugin to run:

A. Go to System Settings > Privacy and Security

B. Scroll down and locate the block message for the Teams Desktop Plugin

C. Grant permission to execute it

5. When prompted, grant permission for the Teams Desktop Plugin to access the microphone.
