Elevate Apps: Managing Personal Contacts

Personal contacts appear in all Elevate Apps for the Elevate User who created them. These contacts are synchronized across all devices for this user. SMS and calls can be placed with the Elevate application on any device to the personal contact.

Requirements

  • Personal contact must have a name and at least 1 phone number
  • Personal contact may have the following optional fields:
    • Additional phone numbers, with labels assigned (Work, Mobile, Home, Other)
    • Email addresses
    • Company and Position
    • Address
  • Phone number can contain numbers, separators (dashes, parentheses, dots, slashes, etc.), DTMF (commas, pound sign).
Note: there is no limit on the number of contacts.

Creating a personal contact

Once personal contact is created from the Elevate application it will be automatically populated to all your Elevate applications. Once contacts are populated to Elevate Desktop app and you will attempt to call synced contact, you will be prompted to set primary number for this contact:

If you want to sync contacts that already exist on your mobile device to your Elevate mobile application and then to all your Elevate applications, refer to the Knowledge article on Sync Contacts to Elevate from Outlook, Office 365, iCloud and Google contacts for the step-by-step instructions.

Note: Elevate doesn't differentiate between work and personal contacts; it imports all contacts without filtering.

From the Desktop app

  1. From the Chat tab, click on the + icon at the search field
  2. Choose the New contact option

  3. Fill in the fields
  4. Save contact.

From the Mobile app

  1. From Contacts tab tap the + icon
  2. Hit Create contact
  3. Fill in the fields
  4. Save contact

Editing / removing a personal contact

Personal contact, created in Elevate app, could be changed or removed from any Elevate application, Desktop or Mobile, to which it has been populated. Changes will be reflected on all Elevate apps.

Personal contact, synced from mobile, could only be changed on the Primary device (on which it was created). In this case native Address Book of the device will be opened and contact will be changed both in Elevate mobile app and in the local Address Book.

Note: this instruction is only for Personal contacts, and is not applicable to Shared Company Contacts. For the admin information, please reach out to our support team by creating a ticket. 

  1. Hover mouse over contact name to open contact card.
  2. Click on Edit contact:
     

  3. Change the necessary fields or remove the contact:
     

From the Mobile app

Open contact card and either edit or delete the contact.

Personal Extensions

In addition to creating personal contact with a phone number, you can create contact with an extension. Extension won't have any validations for international formats, so it can be saved exactly as you intend it to be dialed.
Example: if you dial “102” on the number pad, it will be transformed into “+1-02” upon dialing. This will not happen to a personal extension.
To create a phone number with type “extension”, follow the same steps as when creating a personal contact, but select Extension in the phone number type dropdown list.
